Award and Assistance Programs
The Foundation supports a broad range of activities relating to agriculture:
Student Support:
The leaders of tomorrow are the students of today. We offer education
assistance awards and grants to students attending
a college or university while majoring in a subject relating to agriculture.
By helping defray the costs of a higher education, it is hoped that the
college or university graduate will return to Nevada as a leader in agriculture.
Youth Education Activities:
We offer support to the Future Farmers of America and 4-H groups in such
activities as livestock and range judging, student participation in regional
and national seminars and conferences. These all help to provide broader
educational opportunities and maintain an interest in agriculture.
Research and Development:
We will continue to provide assistance to programs designed to aid in
solving the problems of Nevada's rural communities, farmers and ranchers.
The Foundation often collaborates with Nevada Cooperative Extension, UNR
and the College of Agriculture, Biotechnology & Natural Resources, UNR
in an effort to provide research and educational opportunities at the
local level.
Agricultural Leadership:
We support individuals engaged in production agriculture for assistance
in training and understanding new technologies.
Resource Development:
We will strive to provide facilities, equipment and material for teaching
support as well as on-the-job experiences.
